I would like to visit Egypt because is a beautiful place with an interesting history in the past and in the present this country have different things to show at the people of other countries and other cultures.

I think that Egypt is the best place in the world to travel because is my favourite place and if I can go to the Egypt I would go with my boyfriend to enjoy the travel with an important person for me. In this place I would visit the pyramids, desert and the museum because I love the history of Egypt and I think that is very interesting and exciting.

In Egypt, Your can visit many places as the Giza pyramids, Nile river, white desert, desert of Nubia, the temple of karnak, temple of Dendera and other temples because there are many temples in Egypt to visit and I believe that I lacked time.

I chose Egypt because since I was a little girl I liked the history of the great pharaohs and the mystery of the pyramids I feel that it should be fascinating to be in front of a pyramid because of both its size and grandeur. It is amazing to think that in ancient times they made these large constructions.

Correction post August, 25th

I began to learn English language in my first year of university with the teacher Simon Higginson, this class is very difficult for me because all my classmates have a base in English but I had to learn everything these years. In the beginning of the course I didn`t enjoy to study the English language because I didn’t understand a thing. I was unsuccessful in the first years to the class of English because it was scaring. I don’t know what kind of learner I am and not find nothing easy about learning English because this language have a structure different from the Spanish language in the logic.I find difficult the form of think in the English language for the communication with other people because the structure to speak is different..I don’t know about English culture but I think that is completely different to my culture because I know some people from the English country and they think in a different way.The English language for me is useful in some occasions as in the university and when I was working of part-time in a restaurant but in my daily life is not useful because my family and common people don’t speak English, and this people didn’t have the opportunity of to learn the English language.In my opinion the English language is the tool of communication for some countries but is not necessary for all people. People have their own language and culture and I feel that it is not necessary to pressure them.

Field trip

My last field trip was to Alhué, this place is located southwest of the metropolitan region is a beautiful place with many animals and birds.

I went to Alhué because it was a field trip for a course of my career with teacher Rodrigo Vargas and my classmates. In the field trip all of us we split into three distinct thematic works that was the theme of the physical environment, the sphere of the life and human sphere.

I work in the field of the life with others classmates and I enjoyed a lot the field trip because I learned new things and it was fun.

Letter for Yori

Dear Yori

I don’t know noting of you only know that you are my teacher in the blog but today I writing this letter for to ask you about yourself. The first question is about you real name because I think that your name is not Yori and I want you to tell me about your life for that you and me we know more. I would also like to know you do in your free time ¿Do you have hobbies? And ¿What do you do in the weekend?

I think that helped me a lot in the correction of my mistakes because for me is very difficult the English and you taught me to make good use of the words but sometimes I did not understand the Abbreviations used for the correction.

I liked this activity a lot but I think lacked a bit of communication because it's hard to talk through a blog… anyway it was a fun experience thanks Yori …bye.

"Martian Child"

Is very difficult to choose only one movie as my favourite because there are many good movies, but this year I saw a movie that surprised me, this movie is “Martian Child”, for this reason it is now my favourite.

The movie is interesting because shows through the story of an abandoned child the reality of our present society. The first time that I saw this film it was in this year with my boyfriend in his house I don’t saw this movie in the cinema because this movie was available only in the blockbuster.

The story is about the life of an abandoned child and a man who months before lost his wife because she died and he adopts a this child, the actors in this movie are Joan Cusack, Sophie Okonedo, John Cusack, Amanda Peet and Oliver Platt. This movie has a beautiful dramatic story but a solid content social and emotional that suggests that we are limited the persons for create and think beginning child. Denis in the movie teaches John Cusack to return to live and feel no limitation. Only learn to live together in their own way without thinking about what others say of them and their behavior, only being happy together.

Favourite piece of technology

The laptop is my favourite piece of technology at the moment, mainly because I use it every day in my house, in the university and everywhere. I bought it this year in April and I've used it all day, it is very useful for me. The laptop is an important tool for work and entertainment because the laptop integrates many functions into a single piece of technology and can be carried everywhere because it’s small size. In my everyday life I use the laptop all day in different hours and different places I like the laptop because it is a very important tool for my life and it is very useful for my career. With my laptop I can do my university’s assignments, listen to some music and in the night watch movies in my house. Other thing that I do with my laptop is work with software of geographic information system (SIG) as ArcGis 9.2, Idrisi, Erdas and Arcview.

If I did not have my laptop I would die…because it is important part of my life without it I would not be able to do all the things I do. My life would be harder, I would have to use the bad computer of the university.

September 18 in Chile

This is an important day for my country because it is the celebration of the first national government meeting in the year 1810.

In September 18, all Chileans enjoy the national celebration whit “chicha”, “empanadas”, barbecue and they dance the traditional dance that is the “cueca” in the “fonda” or “ramada”.

When I was a girl was playing fly a kite in the park whit my family it was very funny, because all children out of his houses to playing in different thing as spinning top, marbles or fly a kite. Nowadays, I go to the “fonda” in the O’Higgins Park for dance and eat traditional food of Chile.

I remember that my September 18 favourite was four years ago whit my two cousins, sister and uncle, we were at the O’Higgins Park in the night for eat “empanadas”, barbecue and dance, this was my favourite September 18 because, this day was the last that I saw at my family complete.

The 18 of September is a special day, because all people think in others things and forget his problems for one day and they only amuse themselves meeting, dancing, conversing, eating and enjoying the national celebration whit all people of the country.

Five years from now...

In 5 more years I think that in the profesional side I will be working in some Government Organism outside Santiago. That will be after having finished a post degree outside of the country, regarding the enviroment or local development. On a personal side, I think I will live in the south of Chile, relaxed and close to nature. I would like to have a couple to enjoy and share my life with him.

The place where I would like to live in is close to Valdivia or Chiloe, because those are quiet and very beautiful places. I don’t like Santiago neither big cities, because the lifestyle is way too stressing and are very contaminated. An ideal Future for me is beign quiet and living in a place that allows me to do a lot of things. I would like to have my own field to cultivate my own vegetables and have horses beacuse they're the animals I like the most along dogs.

Learning english

My blog and me

Hello, it is my blog my name is Natalie Jorquera, I was born in Santiago of Chile in June 1986 and study Geography in the University of Chile this is my fourth year of study. In the week all days I go to the university at different times, I spend four hours a day of going and return my house from the university.

My family is rare but is me, my father called Jorge, my mother Solange, my sister Daniela, my other sister Antonella and my boyfriend Mauricio. I don’t happen a lot of time whit they only with my boyfriend I share more time because, I spent to much time in the university.

I don’t have a hobby because I don’t like anything to much, because I think that have only one favourite thing is boring in the life there are thousands of interesting things for doing.

I study geography because is a complete career is exciting, nice and very funny. The university is good in some aspects but in other is bad as some teachers because they are not creative in the education and they do not innovate. My classmates are nice and some of them are my friends as the Marcelo, Andrea and Maria Jose, they are my best friends of the university.

My blogging experience

In this semester the new idea of using blog as form to learn English was very funny. I liked this form to learn because is most simple and all entire classmate can written in my blog and I too. Any things that I didn’t like were the bad computer or the hour because en this hour I was sleepy…I think that using the blog helped me in the vocabulary, grammatical and helped me to have more confidence for talk in English, because this language is very difficult for me.
In among all post my favorite post was “The best blog”, because I had that saw all the blog to my classmate and to know a part of them and exchange ideas.
My least favorite post was “Song”, because I don’t listen to music in English and was complicated search songs that I liked in English language, because I don’t understand it content…. bye

I and the Geography

I study geography because I like the nature and different part of planet with his environmental. In the beginning I don’t want study geography because I don’t know the career and in this moment my mind do not want to think in that to study, I was tired and only want to do other things and I choose any career at random for not lose time. In conclusion I don’t choose the career it me choose. In the future like geographer I want to be working in some governmental organization travelling for the world and helping the people with my knowledge. I think that the geographers on having mixed different areas of the knowledge in an alone career can help to save to the planet, because we have a vision of the problems more complete and with this we search better solution to the problems as energy, pollution, environmental, among others problems of world in this time, in the future the geographer will need have new knowledge of the planet, because this change and think that the best tool for the geographers is the knowledge and to have the power to take the decisions opposite to the problems that the planet have. My favourite subject is the physical geography and environmental.

Teresa of calcutta

I would like to know mother Teresa of Calcutta, because she was a great woman who has dedicated his life to the service of humanity. She never discrimination any person only had just love the people, without looking at his skin colour or social class.

The entire World knew his work with the poorest people. She born on August 26 of 1910 and died on September 5 of 1997, one of all her qualities was had a big heart. If I could speak with her I would ask her life…the different histories of world and is very difficult think what ask with a woman like her so special.

I think that my friend andrea has the best blog, Because this is very special in both its design and its content. I like the texture and color of her blog is very original.

What I like most of her blog is the picture of my little niece, she is very beautiful and nice.

Chiloé island and other locations

I visited the Chiloé Island, In febraury of this year "in my holidays", the island is very big and beautiful place for visit in summer whit your family but i was whit my boyfriend. The island is incredible i went to different parts of it, the forest, beach and different village. I enjoy eating different dishes delicious as curanto, i saw All churches, fairs and animals of the island. I also went to the Villarrica volcano and form a part of a cavalcade towards the volcanic caves. In addition practise kayak in the Caburga lake and visited the thermal baths in the night.
